Your right to a Good Faith Estimate

If you are uninsured, or insured but not using insurance to pay for services, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your care will cost.

Somara is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly, so this right applies to most clients here.

Timing follows current CMS guidance. If a service is scheduled 3-9 business days ahead, you receive the estimate within 1 business day. If it is scheduled 10 or more business days ahead, you receive it within 3 business days. If you request an estimate before scheduling, you receive it within 3 business days.

The estimate sets out the expected charge for the service, the standard session fee, and the anticipated frequency and duration of sessions where those can reasonably be predicted.

The current standard therapy session fee is $200 per 50-minute session. A limited number of reduced-fee appointments may be available based on need and current availability. This notice covers therapy only; non-clinical coaching is not a healthcare service and is addressed in the coaching agreement.

If your final bill is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you may be able to dispute it through the federal patient-provider dispute resolution process.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
